The week of December 11th- December 15th 

Homework went home today! We will not have homework next week since it will be a crazy week!

Students should be working on their Christmas Cards a little each night. And make your Christmas card box. 

Thank you to everyone that came to conference, it was very nice talking to everyone!

Reading:

We will complete our Unit 2 test today!

We will start unit 3: Lesson 11: “Seasons” in our reading series.  We will read, “Every Season”, and “Jump into January,” and we will listen to informational text, “Holidays All Year Long,” in order to build on our reading comprehension skills and to understand and identify characters in a story, setting, details and sequencing (beginning, middle, and end).   We will work on our book handling skills, name the front, back and spine of the book along with the title and author.  We will read from our student readers, “Pam and Me” and “Come and See Me.”(We will point to the words as we read) We will work on syllables in words. We will sentence parts; subject. We will be working on short a words.  We will review our rhyming skills. We will sound out three letter words; pet, tag, hid, fin, bug, set, ten, pig, tap, ham, sob.

We will say our alphabet with the letter sounds.

Sight words; I, Like, the, can, and, see, we, a, to, come, me

Math:

We will continue on our unit on measurement.  We will compare weight; more and less. We will order by weight lightest to heaviest. We will compare capacity which holds more or less. We will measure objects by nonstandard using linking cubes. We will measure weight by nonstandard using a scale.

Handwriting:

We will write our first names Kindergarten style. We will practice writing our sight word; I, like, can, the, and, see, we, a, to, come, me. We will continue to write our numbers 0-10.

Religion:

Children will recognize ways they can prepare for Christmas. The children will identify ways Mary and Joseph got ready for Jesus. Children will learn about Gaudete Sunday. We will continue to talk about the advent wreath and the Christmas Story. 

Social Studies:

We will continue to travel around the world this week learning about Christmas in other countries.

Computer Class:
