The Charism of St. Ursula School
The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur were founded by St. Julie. In the sixty plus years that the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur have had at Saint Ursula School, the charism of St. Julie has continued to grow. When speaking of our relationship with God, she said, “as a sunflower follows the sun, so should we always turn to our good God.” Today visitors to St. Ursula School will see many signs of sunflowers and they will hear God is good, all the time!
Who is St. Julie?
Saint Julie Billiart (12 July 1751 — 8 April 1816) was a French religious leader who founded, and was the first Superior General of, the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.
