Extra Curricular
Band
Students in grades four through eight may enroll in the Instrumental Music Program. The band instructor is Mrs. Jennifer Weglein. Lessons are held during school hours, once a week for one half hour. Band lesson times rotate so that students have their band lesson at a different time each week. It is the responsibility of each student to contact the teacher of his or her academic subject(s) for any missed work. Full band practice is held after school once a week for the advanced students. The school has contracted with the Instrumental Music Program for this program.

Concerts
Friday, December 11 – Beginner Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band- CHRISTMAS CONCERT 1:00 p.m. – concert for the school
- CHRISTMAS CONCERT 1:00 p.m. – concert for parents and family
- Kenilworth Mall around 1:00 p.m.
- National Anthem at the Baltimore Blast Game.
- Representation Band Concert – certain members of our band will represent us at this Archdiocesan concert.
- Notre Dame Prep – concert around 7:30pm
- SCHOOL UNIFORM
- BAND FESTIVAL held at Notre Dame Prep – Time TBA – usually around 1:00 p.m.
- SPRING CONCERT
- 1:00 p.m. – concert for the school
- 7:00 p.m. – concert for parents and family – Evening of the Arts
- Hersheypark Band festival
Summer Band
Summer band is for all levels of students and is a great way to continue to play their instrument through out the summer months. The tuition is prorated if you know you are going to miss any sessions. Many of our students attend which helps them transition to the following year. Summer Band is held at Immaculate Heart of Mary on Tuesdays: June and July from 9:30am - 11:45am. There will be a concert on a Friday in July at Calvert Hall at 7:15pm. Please make every effort to have your child attend this program.
Band rehearsals
Symphonic Band- Band rehearsal is on Mondays from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- There will not be band after school when there is a half day or an early dismissal.
- We will have lessons during the day every Monday including half days.
- Band rehearsal is on Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

- We will have lessons during the day every Wednesday including half days.
- Band lessons will be every Wednesday during the school day only.
Band Uniform
Symphonic Band and Concert Band- solid white oxford shirt – needs to button up to neck
- solid dark long black pants – please no patterns and no skirts
- solid dark shoes – they can be black or brown - please no white laces or markings
- solid dark socks Beginner Band
- dressy clothes – no color specifications
- please no shorts, jeans, sweats or tee shirts
