Letter from School Leadership
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and to learn more about the St. Ursula School, serving students in grades pre-kindergarten 4 through grade 8. Since its beginning in 1940, our school has been committed to cultivating strength through our members’ relationship with God, unity through our spirit and our sense of community, and success through our outstanding and faith-filled educational program. After more than 80 years of its presence in Parkville, St. Ursula remains dedicated to providing a quality Catholic education to its families.
Throughout its history, St. Ursula School has endeavored to fulfill the tenets of its mission statement: to promote academic excellence, spiritual formation, faith in action, and environmental stewardship in our world. This undertaking may only be achieved by the concerted efforts of our faculty, staff, parents, parish, alumni, stakeholders, and, of course, our students. It is only through our commitment to such collaboration and communication that we can attain the vision of our school: to empower students to reach their full potential.
Our academic program has its basis in the professional expertise and undeniable devotion of our talented faculty and staff who provide engaging and innovative classroom experiences to a diverse range of learners. The gifts and talents of our students, however, are not nurtured solely in the classroom. A wide range of extracurricular and cocurricular activities serve to present our students with opportunities to explore their interests and to develop their unique gifts and talents. This development of the total student is centered upon an emphasis on spiritual and moral growth as our young people participate in religion classes, regular celebrations of the Eucharist, prayer services, and the application of their faith in their outreach efforts to the school, parish, and greater community.
If you are not yet a member of “Husky Nation”, we hope that you will consider the possibilities that St. Ursula can hold for you. In closing, let us leave you with the affirmation of St. Julie Billiart, foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, and whose order of sisters led the school for much of its history. “God is good all the time. All the time God is good.”
Sincerely in faith, hope, and love,
Lisa L. Madgar
